No one does it like he can

Dude introduced me to this song, which should tell you a few things. (1) My son is developing a taste in music that makes Dad sit upright and take notice. (2) Dad is starting to rely on son to teach him what’s cool and what’s not as being forty-one is obviously not.  Cool. And I’m down with that.

This is one of those songs that you will enjoy and then repeat it again and again.  Your brain wouldn’t give you a choice in the matter.  It’s simply that good.  A guaranteed earworm. If anyone out there is listening to this clip WITHOUT tapping something then that person must be insane.  Or have absolute control over their emotions.  Or have no rhythm whatsoever.  And if that’s even possible, the chorus arrives with this astonishing BANG-BOOM-BANG! when Sam croons passionately:

“Why are you looking down all the wrong roads?
When mine is the heart and the salt of the soul
There may be lovers who hold out their hands
But they’ll never love you like I can, can, can
They’ll never love you like I can, can”

And this is where you turn up the volume.  Like seriously.  At least three turns.  For if you don’t, then you’re not human and someone should report you to an agency.  The Men in Black needs to be made aware of all aliens roaming earth and  R.I.P.D will sort you out, if you are a being without a soul.

Sam Smith has a great voice, albeit in some cases proof that he should wear bigger underwear.  The lyrics also illustrates clearly that some people fall in love for very strange reasons.  BUT the arrangement of this song is what makes it my favourite at the moment.

Enjoy it, this one is on me. (And Youtube)  Yes I know, I made your day, so go ahead and thank me in the comments section.

  1. I was tapping away and turning up the volume even before I finished reading your blog 😀 Strange how willing we are these days to be taught by our children; can’t remember ever noticing that tendency in the previous generation.
